Decks from the 2020 MN Residential Code will bring you into a new era with regards to designing decks. Most of the challenges with deck design require calculating loads and carrying them to the structural frame and foundation. The 2020 MN Residential code relies on charts and tables to easily guide you through the structural requirements for your deck designs. We will work through several deck designs to help reinforce your learning. In the required Business Management session, we will discuss the essential functions of the common financial statements. We will also spend an hour on the Mechanical Section of the MN Energy Code. (7 hours)

2020 Interior Improvements has been updated for the new MN Residential Code and will examine all the common interior projects that we routinely undertake. We will discuss basement finishes, creating a basement bathroom, converting a garage into living space, and the evolution of a deck to a screen porch, to a sunroom, to living space. In the required Business Management session, we will discuss importance of a good chart of accounts and learn a bit about debits & credits. We will also spend an hour on the MN Energy Code as it relates to Interior Improvement Projects. (7 hours)
